Each of us has that right, that possibility, to invent ourselves daily. If a person does not invent herself, she/he/ they/them/we will be invented. So, to be bodacious enough to invent ourselves is wise.

Beneficent Learning Access (BLAccess) was birthed from challenges which may have been avoided if there were organizations set up to support professional, specialists and graduate immigrants on what it takes to access related opportunities or successfully become an entrepreneur.

As a person of African heritage and a newcomer to Windsor, Ontario; I faced barriers to employment opportunities.
With degrees in Information Systems Management attained in the UK, I was unable to secure a job in my profession with my skills and qualifications.
In order to survive I ended up with employments at a call centre and in factories, trying to segway in to my area of expertise within the organizations, without success. It took networking within the community to realize how to access as well as create opportunities.
I eventually retrained as a CNC Industrial Mechanic Millwright pre-apprentice to be a Millwright so as to improve my chances. It was an unplanned direction however I improved my earnings and learnt invaluable skills; albeit the challenges were and are still ever so present.
